Pierre Lafond re-established Santa Barbara County's post-prohibition winemaking tradition in 1962 when he opened the Santa Barbara Winery downtown on Anacapa Street. Ten year later, he planted the Lafond Vineyard in the cool climate of Santa Rita Hills. Pinot Noir & Chardonnay are bottled as well as obscure varietals such as Iagrein & Negrette.
